Here we are, my first blog entry on WordPress! I’m learning as I go, so please bear with me. Technology and I often don’t get along, and I’m betting that I’ll be pestering my husband and brother for help with all things computer-related. At the same time, I realize how imperative it is for a newbie author like myself to set up various platforms to keep in touch with people.
My goal in keeping up this website/blog and all other forms of social media is to not be heavy-handed on book talk. That gets boring and annoying. Sure, I’ll talk about my book (s), because I’m excited about getting these stories down on paper, but I plan to cover a range of topics.
For anyone reading this, just know that this website is still under construction, so I apologize if it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles other websites have. I’ll be working on it all summer, and maybe I can get my “techie” 12 year old son to help me!
I’ll close my first post with just a few words about my book. It will be sent to my editor within the next few days. She will do content editing and copy-editing. Since this is my first book, the process might take a while – I expect to learn a lot about fiction writing from this experience; tools that I’ll use in future manuscripts. In other words, I expect a lot of constructive criticism. Time to get a thick skin!
Thank you for reading, and I’ll check in with you later!
By the way, the “fun” book I’m currently reading is “The Probability of Violet and Luke” by Jessica Sorensen. It’s the second book on this couple, and it’s full of drama and emotion and dysfunction, like most of Ms. Sorensen’s books!
